Power of Attorney

Legalization of power of attorney for transfer of property on Irembo platform

Irembo is offering this service that allows Rwandans living abroad to legalize Power of Attorney letters for transfer of either movable or immovable property in Rwanda. 

For Power of Attorney (Procuration), visit www.irembo.gov.rw. Navigate to Foreign Affairs Consular Services, then select Legalisation of Power of Attorney for the transfer of property. For other documents, choose Legalisation of Public Documents from abroad to be used in Rwanda.

To apply you must visit Irembo, following the instructions and provide required attachments;

  1. You MUST submit a scanned signed copy of the Power of Attorney letter use the template provided below
  2. You MUST submit a scanned copy of the property documents (i.e. Land Title (U.P.I), Carte Jaune, RDB company registration…)
  3. In case two spouses are signing on the letter, they must provide a copy of their marriage certificate
  4. In case of succession, you must provide a copy of birth certificate or birth record and death certificate
  5. You must submit other supporting documents (i.e. National IDs both applicant and representative)
