2. Apply Through the High Commission of Rwanda in Ottawa
You may also apply in person or by post through the High Commission.
Requirements:
When submitting your application:
- Include a valid passport.
- Include a prepaid, self-addressed, traceable return envelope (FEDEX, UPS, or Canada Post only).
- Enclose a money order or cashier’s check (payable to the Rwanda High Commission) for the visa fee. Cash and personal cheques are not accepted.
Visa Requirements
To apply for a visa through the High Commission, please provide:
- A valid passport (with more than 6 months' validity).
- A completed visa application form.
- One digital, colored passport photo (white background, no headwear, clear facial features).
- Supporting documents, such as:
- Flight itinerary
- Hotel reservation
- Invitation letter (if applicable)
- Tour agency or travel itinerary (if any)
- Visa fee via money order or cashier’s check
- A prepaid, traceable return envelope (FEDEX, UPS, Canada Post only)
Visa Categories, Fees & Duration
- Holiday/Tourist visa (V1) and Family visit visa (V2) are 30-day single-entry visas with a fee of
70CAD, and 90 days multiple-entries with a fee of 95CAD, these visas do not apply to group

business, free of charge - Conference visa (V5) is a 30-day single-entry visa with a fee of 70CAD
Important Notices
- All travelers must hold passports valid for at least 6 months beyond their planned arrival date.
- In exceptional cases of emergency, travelers with less than 6 months' validity must seek prior written approval (derogation) from the High Commission before arranging travel.
- The High Commission is not responsible for delays or travel issues arising from failure to comply with this policy.
Beware of Fraudulent Visa Sites
